Wanderers v. Pacific (Oct. 9, 2019)

Supporters march to the Wanderers home opener.

Amongst a string of games that don’t really matter comes one that does. All season, Wanderers’ main story has been the support off the field rather than the play on it, and tonight is a chance to indulge that in a way that doesn’t feel like a distraction.

The final home game means very little in the standings, but it is a meeting of two teams, home and home, that have been built from scratch in their respective communities, and it’s a chance to celebrate how special and unlikely that is one more time.

The liveblog goes up from the historic Wanderers’ Grounds at 6:30pm.
