USPORTs Semi-final: Cape Breton v. Montreal

Here’s something that seems to confuse people no end: being the home team doesn’t matter in this sport in any on-field capacity. It matters in terms of support, of course. The twelfth man. But all it gets you in a technical capacity is the chance to call the coin toss heads or tails.

So while Cape Breton are the “home” team, this is very much a road game, in what could easily have been a final had the draw panned out differently. Cory Bent, Charlie Waters, and Peter Schaale were getting a lot of love after yesterday’s display, but this will be their key test.

The liveblog will go up around 7:45pm, and we’ll all pray that we avoid extra-time.
