There is a possible future — still far from guaranteed — where matches like this are a regular reality, up and down a Canadian game that pits local sides against each other.
It’s appropriate that, tonight, this game will also see guys from Guelph playing for Halifax and a former Wanderer playing for Guelph. There are always the clichés about magic of the cup this or upset that, but the Voyageur’s Cup predates it all, hailing from a time when all of this was was a complete fantasy.
