USPORTs Final: UBC v. Thompson Rivers

Here we are at last. There are 48 university men’s soccer teams across the country, and about that many again on the college circuit, which makes this by far the biggest high-level soccer competition in Canada.

It ends with an all-BC matchup between Vancouver’s UBC and Kamloops’ much prettier but also much smaller Thompson Rivers University. The CCAA tournament is also in BC, so it’s been a good weekend for west coast soccer in general. No doubt we’ll see a big crowd for the hosts in Kamloops tonight.

The Thunderbirds last won national gold in 2013, but have won precious little since. Thompson Rivers have never won it, but haven’t lost to UBC this year.

Follow along from 5:30pm Atlantic for all the fun.
