Pacific v. Wanderers (Oct. 2 2019)

It’s the end of the year, which means it’s time to admit I put almost no effort into choosing photos for FC Edmonton games.
Whenever things have been tough for Wanderers this year, whenever they’ve been down and almost out, they’ve been able tp play Valour. And every time, it gets better.
As mentioned on Twitter, I’ll be along a bit later tonight because of refereeing commitments[mfn]I thought the Wanderers game was at 7, okay?[/mfn] so, you know, chat amongst yourselves. I leave you in the monkeys’ capable hands.
After immersing myself in AUS for the past two weeks, Wanderers soccer is back, with the first leg of what is essentially a cup tie against Forge.
Remember this place? It’s been another long month away from Wanderer’s Grounds, and we’re into the home stretch of games now. Which means Wanderers need […]

Today is a day of celebrations: Peter Schaale going back to school, Cavalry in the Voyageur’s Cup semi-final with a chance, Forge beating Antigua in CONCACAF.
I actually like long road trips–they’re a part of sports if not always the traditional, European model of soccer–and they add some structure to the season. Unfortunately, Wanderers’ last was not very good. They’re now winless in the league for four games–six in all competitions–with a couple blowouts there at the end as the minds and legs went.
I am not sure there is going to be a time when I won’t want to use that photo for an FC Edmonton liveblog.
