The 2020 season is over already, but did you expect Wanderers to be in the final? It’s alright, neither did I.
As much as Forge have experience in the final, it’s on them to adapt to Wanderers’ pressure that can and has disrupted their build-up play.
When you have a tournament, this is the kind of game it’s about. Both Forge and Cavalry need a result, plus it’s Forge and Cavalry–by far CanPL’s best rivalry so far.
Tommy Wheeldon Jr. is dragging Cavalry forward despite battle scars and missing limbs. Bravery, to be sure. Foolhardy? We shall see.
Pacific are the team that always upsets Cavalry. If they do it here, they’ll have a real chance of making the final.
Wanderers have looked good enough in this tournament that it’s easy to forget how much of a surprise it is for them to be in the second round.
Eight months ago, Wanderers had six players and Ottawa didn’t have a pro soccer team. Now both could make the CanPL playoffs.
Cavalry could very easily go out today. Let’s enjoy it, shall we?
